My name is Lee and I love photography and learning. I have always had a fascination with how things worked growing up to the detriment of our family electronics. I have pursued music and photography for most of my life and, in 2010, received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography. In graduate school I found I have a deep passion for seeing the light bulb moment in others. This led to my career of a university professor teaching photography for the last 10 years in addition to being a working photographer. I started this website to learn more about digital and film-based photography and to provide a resource for my students.

Where Can I Get 1 Hour Photos? Places to Print Your Photos Locally
Several other big box stores can do “1-hour prints” and many of them have dirt-cheap prices. Some of them even offer occasion coupons for free 8×10 prints!
However, as a photographer and educator, I have to tell you that these 1-hour printers are not top quality. In fact, 1-hour print shops are some of the lowest quality I’ve encountered.
Remember that the employees working the photo printing machines have little to no specialized training as photographers or technicians. They probably can’t troubleshoot white balance issues with you, confirm the color space of your images, check the black levels of the machine, etc.
And if those terms are foreign to you, that’s even more of a reason why you want a GOOD photo printer to be helping you, because it’s their job to know the lingo and the technicalities that make your prints look awesome.
So, I can’t vouch for the quality of any of these options, but these are local stores that still have 1-hour printing options if you need quick results.

Disease-causing bacteria can spread easily during large-batch washing/processing, leading to outbreaks … hydroponics has also gone mainstream. Even Costco offers a countertop hydroponics setup …
8. The Reason Many Pro Photographers Use Costco is REALLY Surprising
The final product at Costco is so good that many pro photographers use their photo service, even instead of photo shops that ONLY do photos.
But the reason why was fascinating to me.
Again, according to a Costco employee on this interesting Reddit thread, “We get a lot of professionals who print with us for the same reason. They find the more dedicated photo shops have “bias” with their prints. Which makes sense. They have a way they like to develop through their years of photography while we are…just in a Costco, lol.”
While I never considered it before, this makes sense as pro photographers want their art to shine through and not what the developer “perceives” as their vision.
Stores That DO NOT Provide Film Development
Does Sam’s Club develop film?
Sam’s Club has joined the ranks of stores that do not develop film. Sam’s Club does not have a physical photo center, but relies on its online photo center to maintain its picture printing abilities. This service is also only available for Sam’s Club members.
Does Target develop film?
A few years ago, Target would have been considered one of the places to get film developed. However, during the COVID pandemic in the spring of 2020, all the stores removed their photo services and now use the space for storage. While their online photo services are still up and running they do not have film development capabilities anymore.
Does Costco develop film?
Costco also does not offer any in-house photo services. Just like Sam’s Club and Target, they have turned to the internet to do their photo business. However, Costco has photo printing services for their members that let them send their prints directly to their own home.
Option 1: Costco Will Still Print Your Photos and Ship Them
It’s frustrating that you’ll have to pay for shipping now, especially for a product that you used to be able to pick up while you were on a snack run.
While you’ll have to plan ahead now so you can ensure there’s enough time for your prints to be produced and shipped to you, not much has changed beyond that.
Those products will all still be their usual low prices, and they will retain their great Costco quality. They will also still carry all of the products they did when the photo centers were open.
Costco has clarified that they will continue to offer holiday cards, calendars, and photo books through the Costco Photo Center website, along with other products.
Just remember that you’ll have to plan ahead to factor in shipping time, and now you’ll have to pay a shipping cost.
Also – if you edit your photos, you should turn off the auto-correct! It’s likely undoing many of your exposure edits. Read this post for instructions how to turn it off one time or forever.
